Love of new beginnings must be hard-wired in our brains. You screwed up in 2010? Didn’t live up to your potential? That’s fine because the race restarts now. We need this metaphysical reboot in order to move beyond our mistakes and affirm (emphasize) the fact that we are changing beings.

Something bothers me about bookstores that sell nothing but brand new paperbacks. It’s not even the inflated price, but something about the books lacking personality. Call me irrational or crazy… or spoiled by a certain antique store with all the best hardcover books for peanut prices.

If I still had the luxury of writing college philosophy papers, id try to examine Kafka’s short story “The Burrow” as a metaphorical model of clinging to material wealth, and then suffering as a consequence.
